ABOUT ERIN · WILD HEART REIKI

I’ve always been curious about what else is possible.

I’m Erin — nurse, Reiki Master, somatic practitioner, lifelong learner, and the person behind Wild Heart.

My work has grown from more than a decade of caring for others, alongside my own experience of learning what it means to slow down, listen inward, and build a life that feels a little more like my own.

I know what it feels like to run on empty.

For a long time, I worked full-time as a psychiatric nurse and gave a lot of myself to the people I cared for.

I would finish my shifts completely drained. I was tired, irritable, and somehow weeks would pass before I even realized they were gone.

Life felt like it was moving faster than I could actually experience it.

Finding Reiki was one of the first things that began to shift that for me. It helped me recognize how much of myself I was constantly giving away — and what it felt like to stop.

But that was really only the beginning.

I slowly started making changes. I stepped back from working full-time. I made more room for my own health and well-being, and became increasingly curious about the connection between our bodies, our minds, and the way we move through our lives.

Eventually, that curiosity led me to somatic work and Regenerative Alchemy, where I began learning more deeply about the nervous system and our capacity to move through different states rather than becoming stuck in them.

And somewhere along the way, slowing down stopped being something I did to recover from my life and started becoming part of how I wanted to live it.

Maybe there’s another way.

We live in a world that's very good at keeping us distracted, busy and switched on.

Keep going. Push through. Reach the next goal.

Especially for those of us who grew up believing hard work would eventually earn us the chance to slow down, it can be strange to realize that the finish line just... keeps moving.

There's always another deadline. Another achievement. Another person who needs something.

And our bodies keep trying to keep up.

Sometimes that looks like being wired, anxious, restless, or unable to settle. Sometimes it looks like shutting down, disconnecting, or moving through life without really feeling like you're experiencing it.

I don't believe the answer is to be calm all the time.

Our nervous systems naturally move through periods of activation and rest, energy and stillness.

For me, the goal is stability — having enough capacity to move between those states without constantly living at one extreme or the other.

Coming back to ourselves

I believe there is wisdom in learning how to listen to ourselves again.

To notice what feels nourishing and what doesn't.

To spend time outside. Make something with our hands. Grow things. Move our bodies. Rest when we're tired. Follow curiosity. Find the small things that bring us back to joy.

Not because any one of those things will magically fix everything.

But because a life isn't only something we're supposed to get through.

We're supposed to experience it, too.

I don’t believe there’s only one way back to ourselves.

That belief is at the heart of how I work with people.

My background in mental health taught me the importance of evidence-based care and the very real place conventional healthcare holds in our lives.

My experiences outside of that system have also taught me to stay curious — about our bodies, our nervous systems, our relationships, our environments, our connection to nature, and our intuition.

I don't see these things as competing with one another.

I think there is room for both.

My approach is grounded, curious, compassionate, and a little intuitive — drawing from my professional experience, my training, and the things I've learned through living it myself.

When I’m not here...

You'll probably find me with my hands in something.

I love gardening and growing herbs, making teas and tinctures, baking sourdough, and finding new projects to make with my hands.

Nature is one of the places I return to again and again — the forest, the water, the garden, or simply stepping outside for a while.

I'm also a homeschooling mom, which means I'm often learning right alongside my kids and being reminded that curiosity doesn't have to disappear when we grow up.

My life isn't perfectly slow or perpetually peaceful. There's noise and kids and unfinished projects and probably a cup of tea I've reheated more than once.

But I've learned to look for the little moments that bring me back to myself.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.

Maybe you're exhausted from holding everything together. Maybe you're curious about what it would feel like to live a little differently. Or maybe you're simply looking for somewhere you can show up exactly as you are.

Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you found your way to Wild Heart.
